Jason Gurley

By day, I'm a user experience designer; by evenings/weekends, I write novels from my home in Scappoose, Ore. My newest is Awake in the World, published February 2019 by Roaring Brook Press; my previous novel, Eleanor, was published by Crown in 2016 and has since been translated into German, Portuguese, and Turkish. I’m currently working on a new project.

Author event in Mount Vernon, WA

This should be fun: on Saturday, Jan. 17, I'll be in Washington, appearing at the Mount Vernon City Library at 2pm. The generous folks who work there have invited me up to read and talk and answer questions for a bit.

If you're in that area, come out and say hello! I'll have some books on hand to sell and sign, but mostly I'll be there, looking like a goober at my first solo event. (I've done joint author events before, but never ventured out there on my own. It's anyone's guess how well this will go!)

I'll be reading from Eleanor or Deep Breath Hold Tight. I haven't decided which just yet. There's even a chance that I'll take a mighty big risk and read The Dark Age. I haven't managed to read that one in public before; even reading it to my wife had me choked up like a fool. It's probably a mistake to even consider reading that one...

Anyway, here's where I'll be, so come on out!
