Jason Gurley

By day, I'm a user experience designer; by evenings/weekends, I write novels from my home in Scappoose, Ore. My newest is Awake in the World, published February 2019 by Roaring Brook Press; my previous novel, Eleanor, was published by Crown in 2016 and has since been translated into German, Portuguese, and Turkish. I’m currently working on a new project.

One week!

As of yesterday, we're just a week away from Eleanor's arrival! And check out what arrived in the mail today:

That, of course, is the UK edition of the book, to be published in March by HarperVoyager. I'm quite the lucky author, don't you think? Both of the upcoming covers are really stunning. This one's taken the rather bold approach of embossing the book's title and my name on the front cover, without any color, so that the artwork draws the eye. The title's almost an easter egg. And I really love the forest-flecked spine.

If you've somehow missed my yapping about the launch event, by the way, it's coming up next Thursday, at Powell's City of Books in downtown Portland. Details are here. I hope to see you there!
