On the bulletin board above my desk, I keep a handful of quotes that have taught me something, or that I hope to learn from.

Here's one:

No one will care about this work as much as you, therefore you will have to do it yourself. (A reminder not to seek validation.)

This is a note I jotted down to myself, but I can't recall when, or in response to what. It's an important one to me, though. Seeking validation of my work, my skill, my achievements is something I wrestle with, as if none of those things has value until someone else deems them valuable. I haven't learned this one fully. I'm still working at it.
