When you're up, you celebrate

Publishing can be a fickle business, someone once told me, so you have to make sure you celebrate every little positive thing that happens. Embrace the highs, because there are a lot of lows.

On Tuesday, The Edge of Sleep was released. Publication day is always a high, so we celebrated it. Felicia and Squish and I went out for dinner (burgers!) and then visited our favorite bookstore, Powell's Books, to see if we could spot the book in the wild.

Squish found it first:

Felicia took a bunch of photos of our proud kiddo (it's so nice she hasn't reached the age where she's mortified by her folks yet) and then turned the camera on me.

I don't often love photos of me, but this one I like. Felicia's camera brings out the real me, I think.

Gotta celebrate the good moments! And this was a good one.
